Tesla Wars 1919Function introduction
To make the weeper laugh, the laugher weep,
O, one by nature's outwards so commended
One Show Only is described as "a narrative card where you interrogate witnesses to a murder by playing a card game". Certainly, that sounds intriguing enough.Investigating a murder that occurred at a Circus, you'll use your deck of cards (composed of questions) to question different witnesses.Where you place the card on the grid influences directly how the question is worded and what type of answer you'll get.Just like this:While the concept is interesting, the UI could do with some tuning. The developer said on his blog that the game is currently content complete but that it needs a lot more polish.Let's hope the presentation can match the concept then. Look for it later this year on iOS and Android.
The Triennale Game Collection is meant to be a virtual exhibition of Video Games.Curated by Italian game designer Pietro Righi Riva, it's a collection of experimental games made by some of the finest indie developers in the world including Mario von Rickenbach & Christian Etter (creators of Dreii, Plug & Play), Tale of Tales (creators of Luxuria Superbia, The Path), Cardboard Computer (creators of Kentucky Route Zero), Pol Clarissou (Orchids to Dusk), and Katie Rose Pipkin (Mirror Lake). If you know anything about indie gaming, this list should be enough to make you more than interested in this game's collection. Be aware that each games will be progressively unlocked within the app, with one game per week. The app's available right now for free on iOS. It's also out on Google's Play Store (thanks Paolo Tajé).Here's the schedule and the pitch for each game based on the App's description:[Week 1] Il Filo Conduttore by Mario von Rickenbach & Christian Etter (Switzerland), is a small story about about a cord, which hangs down from the top, overlooking a handful of delicately arranged objects.[Week 2] LOCK by Auriea Harvey & Michaël Samyn (Tale of Tales, Belgium) is a small exploration of the universe, as previously imagined: based on cosmologies which place the Earth, and thus humans, at the center of the universe, Loci Omnes Caelesistis Kyries shifts between a simple diagram and a fascinating machine.[Week 3] Neighbor by Jake Elliott, Tamas Kemenczy & Ben Babbitt (Cardboard Computer, USA) is the story of a wordless friendship that evolves over time, set in a small underground domicile and the patch of desert above it.[Week 4] A Glass Room by Pol Clarissou (France) showcases pictures and animated sequences from Pol Clarissou’s own life. The flickering photographs projected on virtual walls create a narrative that evolves as the player manipulates the device.[Week 5] The Worm Room by Katie Rose Pipkin (USA) is a first-person exploration game which exists as a series of endless glass greenhouses that the player may wander through for the same reasons one visits a physical botanical garden; to walk, to take in beauty, to learn. You can already play Il Filo Conduttore and the next game will unlock next week. If you're in Europe, do note that you can also visit the XXI Triennale International Exhibition in Milan to see the games there.[Thanks to Christian Valentin and Netsabes]

The third season of Digital Legends Entertainment's Respawnables Heroes has arrived today giving players another 51 levels to progress through. It will offer a series of rewards that will include a new Hero and a plethora of Halloween-themed items. The newest Hero to arrive in the roster then is GL1TCH, a brazen, agile and confident young lad. He has a mid-range device strapped to his wrist called the Energy Launcher which is capable of generating plasma using his brain waves. The Launcher's energy can also be inverted to create a huge ball that deals damage in an area. Anyone caught by this attack will be rooted in place, allowing his teammates to then step in and deal large amounts of damage to these stationary targets.Talking about the arrival of GL1TCH, Adrià Belles, Product Owner for Respawnables Heroes said: “GL1CTH is who the team needs to finish off those enemies that hide around the corners.”They added: “His ability to attack through the walls will bring new dynamics to the gameplay and unexpectedness during the encounters, as once damaged, most of the opponents wait for its team to come over and help them out, whether with stamina or healing. GL1TCH will be a key member to defy the opponent's strategy.”
"He said `women,' not `woman,'" smiled Anne. "Perhaps Captain Jim sees us both through the rose-colored spectacles of his love for us. But we can try to live up to his belief in us, at least."
(This article was originally published on our sister site PocketGamer.biz)The Global VR Challenge is fast approaching, and the entries are piling in. However, this may be a little too soon for those developers that are not quite ready to enter. So, if you're one of those developers, then we've got some good news! That's because, in order to allow more developers to enter the Global VR Challenge, Steel Media have extended the deadline for entries. As such, developers now have until midnight on Monday 20th June to submit their VR concepts / games.Still unsure whether you qualify? Well, it's actually quite simple:This competition is open to all independent developers.Submitted games must be either a new concept or original idea that is currently unreleased, or a VR title released in the last 6 months which hasn’t been published in the Chinese market.Entries must be suitable for either mobile or PC-based VR.Those shortlisted for the final stage in China will be required to submit their game for judging on relevant DeePoon hardware (hardware and support will be provided by DeePoon).Entries will need to have at least one member of their team with a valid passport and able to travel to China on July 25th – 30th.A complete set of rules can be found at the following link.In order to enter, developers must submit a description of their game / concept, along with any assets available, via the Global VR Gaming Challenge website.Of course, to make sure that nobody is at a disadvantage, anyone who has already submitted, will be able to update their entry by resubmitting at any point up until this new deadline. That's not all though, as with this new deadline we can also announce that this will then be followed by the first stage of judging on Friday 24th June. All in all, with some of the hottest VR concepts already submitted, alongside $35,000 in cash alongside a trip to China and VR hardware on offer, the Global VR Challenge is certainly looking set to be one of the most exciting events in this year's VR calendar."Let you! I'm sure he would be delighted," cried Anne. "I admit that it was what was in my head when I took you down last night. Captain Jim has always been wishing he could get somebody to write his life-book properly for him."
