If there were a melee equivalent of "spray and pray," it might look something like the chaotic technique used in Cloud Knights.

Cloud Knights is a strange, physics-based action game where combat and movement stem from the same action - relentless, haphazard swinging.

Whether it's an axe, a longsword, or a scimitar, swinging your weapon 'round and 'round like a steel windmill is the only way to gain leverage to move about in the game, as well as lay waste to your undead foes.

The result is rather QWOP-y, a cartoonish game of flailing about that looks as funny as it does somehow strategic.

"Get down, Matey. The sofa is your place. I must put this paper away safe till I can find time to finish the story in it. It's called A Mad Love. 'Tisn't my favorite brand of fiction, but I'm reading it jest to see how long she can spin it out. It's at the sixty-second chapter now, and the wedding ain't any nearer than when it begun, far's I can see. When little Joe comes I have to read him pirate yarns. Ain't it strange how innocent little creatures like children like the blood-thirstiest stories?"

In some popular TV shows, both foreign and Russian, there is an entertaining mini-game in which teams compete in dexterity and flexibility. Players move walls with carved figures - if a player manages to occupy the necessary pose he will get points and slip further, if not, he will fall into the pool and lose. Cross Fort embodied this game as a separate one touch arcade, in which you need to dodge the approaching walls using the poses at the bottom of the screen.Each eye that saw him did enchant the mind;

"No, no, Susan, we haven't quarrelled. It's only--Gilbert is going to buy the Morgan place, and we'll have to go and live at the Glen. And it will break my heart."

There's more exciting news today as the Japanese favourite, Fate/Grand Order, launches in the US and Canada.

Presented by TYPE-MOON, Fate/Grand Order is a rather complex-sounding visual narrative adventure centred on the Fate/Stay Night franchise. If you're not familiar with the franchise, you take on the role of 'Master' and have to summon and command powerful familiars known as 'Servants'.

Where Grand Order is concerned, 2015 is the final era where sorcery exists. The Chaldea Security Organisation, a group which guarantees humanity's existence through the ages, finds out that humans are likely to go extinct in 2016. In response, agents must be sent back in time to deal with the space-time anomalies that could result in humanity's destruction.

If you're still with me, you can grab Fate/Grand Order free to play on the American/Canadian App Store or Google Play now. There's no word yet on the game's release in further locations, but we'll keep an eye out.

Oh, and if you fancy giving the game a go now it's in English check out Pocket Gamer's handy guide on creating a foreign iTunes account.
